Purchase a Searchlight® Subscription Plan: Youth Division

The "Youth Evangelizer" certification program is divided into three levels.  Basic and Intermediate are presently available.  (Advanced is being developed for future access.)  The class materials needed for each level of the "Youth Evangelizer" Certification are accessible with the purchase of a subscription.  A subscription makes it possible for an enrolled student to receive the online materials needed to complete each of the classes.  The completed class materials must be submitted to the Searchlight® Virtual School in order to receive credit for each of the classes.
Youth Evangelizer Basic Subscription Plan: $30/year
Youth Evangelizer Intermediate Subscription Plan: $30/year

Youth Evangelizer Basic consists of the following online classes:

Important things to know about the Searchlight® Subscription Plans:

  • The subscription plan is purchased through PayPal®.  You will need to enter a student number in the space provided.  A student number was assigned as part of the enrollment confirmation.
  • You may log in to an existing PayPal account, or pay with a credit card.
  • PayPal will walk you through the subscription procedure and process your order.
  • PayPal will send you an e-mail confirming your subscription order.  (You should print this for your records.)
  • Purchasing a subscription automatically registers a student who is officially enrolled in the Searchlight Virtual School for the first course required for that level of certification.  When the payment notification is received by the Searchlight Virtual School, the materials needed for the first class will be sent to you via e-mail attachment.
    • Save the PDF documents to your local computer by using the File > Save As feature. 
    • You should save them in a designated folder that you set up on your local coomputer. 
    • Print the class worksheets all at once, or as needed.  The student must have these worksheets in front of him or her while working at the computer. 
    • Most of the classes include quizzes and/or module tests.  Students will know when it is time for a quiz or module exam through the "on screen" instructions built into the interactive programs designed for each class. 
    • A clipboard or other appropriate writing surface will be needed.  You might also consider the use of headphones.
    • The completed class materials must be mailed to the Searchlight® Virtual School in order to receive credit for the class.
    • When the completed materials are received, they will be reviewed by the Searchlight Virtual School.  We will be checking for several things:
      1. Have all the required materials been submitted?  Are they complete?  Are they legible?
      2. If a particular class requires responses to reflection questions, are the responses adequate and acceptable? If not we may require some answers to be resubmitted before issuing a Certificate of Completion for that class.
      3. Quizzes and modular exams will also be graded. We use an "S/U" or "Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory" grading scale.  In the case of a "U" we may require a re-test before issuing a Certificate of Completion for that class.
      4. If everything is satisfactory, the Office of Catechetical Development and Youth Ministry Formation for the Diocese of Palm Beach will issue a Certificate of Completion for the class.  Save this for your records.
  • If you purchase a subscription and do not receive the materials for the first class within 24 hours, please contact us immediately.
  • Your subscription is good for one year from the date of the purchase.  On the one-year anniversary of your purchase, your subscription will expire. 
  • To continue using the online classes beyond the initial one-year subscription timeframe, renew your subscription.
  • When a student completes the classes in the Youth Evangelizer Basic Certification, he or she may move on to the next level by purchasing a new subscription for the Youth Evangelizer Intermediate Certification.
  • If you encounter difficulties with the PayPal process, please call us immediately.  We will work out another payment method.

When you need to register for the next course , click on the "Register/Download" button at the top of the screen. 

    1. Registration instructions are provided on that page.
    2. Click on the link for the name of the class for which you are registering. An electronic PDF form will open in a separate window.
    3. Fill in the information requested on the form. Save a copy of the form to your local computer.
    4. Send the Registration Form back to us electronically by clicking the submit button, or by attaching it to an e-mail.
    5. When we receive your class registration form, we will send the class materials as a PDF attachment in an e-mail.
