The "Getting Up To Today" program is divided into two parts: Basic and Intermediate.  Each part is accessible with the purchase of a subscription.  Each subscription makes it possible for an enrolled student to receive the online materials needed to complete each of the classes for each level.   The completed class materials must be submitted to the Searchlight^® Virtual School in order to receive credit for the classes.

Important things to know about the Searchlight^® Subscription Plans:

• The subscription plan is purchased through PayPal^®.  You will need to enter your student number in the space provided.  Your student number was assigned at the time of your enrollment confirmation.
• You may log in to an existing PayPal account, or pay with a credit card.
• PayPal will walk you through the subscription procedure and process your order.
• PayPal will send you an e-mail confirming your subscription order.  (You should print this for your records.)
• Your subscription is good for one year from the date of the purchase.  On the one-year anniversary of your purchase, your subscription will expire. 
• To continue using the online classes beyond the initial one-year subscription timeframe, renew your subscription.
• When a student completes the classes in the Foundations Basic Certification, he or she may move on to the next level by purchasing a new subscription for the Foundations Intermediate Certification.
• Purchasing a subscription automatically registers a student who is officially enrolled in the Searchlight Virtual School for the classes required for that level of certification.  When the payment notification is received by the Searchlight Virtual School, the materials needed for the classes will be sent to you via e-mail attachment.
  • Save the PDF documents to your local computer by using the File > Save As feature. 
  • You should save them in a designated folder that you set up before you begin inputing data.  If you don't save them to your local computer first, any information you input will be lost.
  • You can input data directly into the PDF, or print the PDF and input the data by hand.
  • Always save your work!  If you close the PDF without saving your data, the information will be lost.  
  • The completed course materials must be sent to the Searchlight^® Virtual School in order to receive credit for the course.
  • You can return the class materials electronically by clicking the submit button, attaching the document to an e-mail, or by regular mail.
  • If you purchase a subscription and do not receive the course materials from us within 24 hours, please contact us immediately.
• If you encounter difficulties with the PayPal process, please call us immediately.  We will work out another payment method.

Note: Catechists who are part of a group underwriting by a parish must still complete the Searchlight^® Virtual School enrollment process.  This may be done at any time, but they may not begin registering for online classes until the parish has completed the group enrollment process. Catechists who are part of a group underwriting do not have to purchase an individual subscription plan, since the training fee is being underwritten by their parish.  Check with your parish PCL to see if you are part of a group underwriting process.  Some parishes may prefer individual Catechists to purchase a subscription plan and submit the receipt for reimbursement.  Reimbursement is up to the discretion of each pastor.

If you lose or misplace any of the course materials, you can re-register for a course.  Click on the "Register/Download" button at the top of the screen. 

1. Registration instructions are provided on that page.
2. Click on the link for the name of the class for which you are registering. An electronic PDF form will open in a separate window.
3. Fill in the information requested on the form. Save a copy of the form on your local computer.
4. Send the Registration Form back to us electronically by clicking the submit button, or by attaching the form to an e-mail.
5. When we receive your class registration form, we will send the class materials you need as a PDF attachment to an e-mail.
